Can you feel it? America feels fractured—divided by race, politics, and class, with divorce rates still soaring, and even within our own churches. We all get the intense concern for things; we know this isn’t how it’s supposed to be. As believers, our fight isn’t against flesh and blood but against spiritual darkness. Yet, we’re caught up in division—loyalty to church pastors and not the Jesus of them, social media ‘cancel culture,’ and a toxic ‘us versus them mentality.’ It’s time for change. Let’s remember Jesus’s call: love one another. To heal our nation, we must first unite in love, humility, and faith. The question is: Are we willing to be the change? The answer starts with us. Now is the time to set aside division and follow Christ’s example. Will you join in this movement of unity and transformation caused by regeneration? Let’s be a nation of family, not faction.
The solution to a divided nation, kingdom, country or home starts with unified hearts under Christ.
“How can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man?”
(Matt. 12:29 | Mark 3:27 | Luke 11:21–22)
Spiritual Warfare on Screen:
This concept isn’t new; even our movies reflect it, as seen in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron. The enemy wasn’t just Ultron—although the enemy seemed external—Tony Stark created it. The real struggle was from within. The witch in the movie was able to play mind games to sow division inside the team. It’s often said that if the enemy wants to destroy a nation, a home, or a business, he will do so from within. Jesus was revealing a core kingdom principle here: a divided house cannot stand. Victory comes when the “strong man” is bound, and Kingdom authority takes over. Jesus was proving that He wasn’t working for the enemy; He was overpowering him. Jesus’ miracles were His credentials that proved He was working as an ambassador of the Kingdom of God to dismantle that of the Kingdom of darkness.
Is it enough just to be reformed? The man in the context of this passage, who was healed of being deaf and mute, was now free from his disabilities, but did that mean he’d truly chosen to love and follow Jesus? Reformation does not mean automatic Regeneration. Jesus hadn’t come to just clean up this man’s life; He came to rule over it. Though he was delivered, the man remained spiritually vacant and vulnerable. A reformed life that hasn’t been regenerated is still vulnerable to enemy forces reentering and taking over again. Kingdom living is about allowing Jesus to possess us, becoming the new creation in Christ. Bottom line, you can’t walk in kingdom victory while inwardly divided.
“Reformation may clean the room, but only regeneration changes who owns the house.”
Our generation has become infinitely obsessed with freedom, but we treat the big “S” word (Submission) like a plague. We don’t like the idea of spiritual accountability, but we do want spiritual authority. Jesus makes it clear in this context, “It’s time we stop asking God to deliver us while keeping a key under the doormat for sin.” If you’re still renting a room in your house to the enemy, you can’t expect to be victorious over him. If we’re entertaining sinful lifestyles in private while openly upholding an image of being godly, it’s not true integrity. A divided believer, even internally, cannot expect to cause significant damage to the kingdom of darkness. Perhaps it’s time to identify the strong man in our own lives, then let the stronger man come in and overtake him.
**Time of reflection**
A divided heart weakens authority: unity with Jesus empowers it.
Jesus already bound the strong man, I don’t have to submit to him anymore.
**The Heart Probing Question**
Have I allowed the enemy to keep access to areas of my life that Jesus already gave me the authority to reclaim?

Shall we end in prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the finished work of Jesus on the cross, I realize that there are some areas for one reason or other I’ve not completely surrendered to you, and the enemy still takes up residence in that place. I ask for grace today to surrender this area to you wholeheartedly so that You can change me from the inside out.
No longer a divided house, I am a dwelling place for the King.
